God’s
power was revealed to me in ways that I know
could only come from Him.
The 2nd day we were at our
mission point a message was given with an
invitation to anyone that would like to
receive Jesus.
A man stood up and came forward and
with tears flowing down his face he said he
wanted to be saved.
He looked around the crowd gathered
and asked everyone to forgive him for all he
had done to them … and to God.
He was the village thief and God had
grabbed a hold of his heart in a way I’ve
never seen in a person.
He emptied his pockets (tobacco and
all) on the ground and turned in repentance!
It
was so evident that there were no words
spoken that changed this man, but the clear
hand of God brining true brokenness and true
life in Him for this village thief!

We serve
an awesome God who performs miracles.
And I saw one His miracles first hand
on this trip.
One afternoon a lady brought her 2
year old baby to us to pray for.
The baby was born healthy but after
one week the baby fell into a coma where she
remained for one month.
After coming out of the coma the baby
was not the same. She has cried continually and has not slept since coming out
of the coma.
That has been almost two years and
the doctors do not know why this happened or
what to do.
We prayed over the baby and asked God
to end the baby’s crying and to let the
baby go to sleep. The following morning the mother told us the baby had slept
all night!
As we were visiting the mother, the
baby fell asleep in her arms.

The
overwhelming surprise for me on this
campaign was how many people said they had
heard of “this Jesus” and asked us to
“please tell me about Him!!”
Even the apparent skeptics wanted to
know more and frequently saw truth in the
story their flesh resisted.
This is the first campaign that I
remember where “seekers” did not arise
– people usually submitted to Jesus’
lordship without a repeat visit.

Wednesday
evening I was convicted regarding looking at
my watch all day.
So, Thursday I purposed to let my
Ministry Partner (interpreter) keep track of
time. I
truly walked in the moment.
That morning we spent a large block
of time with a strong believer in her home.
She shared about an item that a
practitioner of witchcraft had placed in her
home. We
burned it, praised God in song, prayed
through her home and laid hands on her. As we encouraged her with scripture, she regained confidence
in her walk.
Later in the day, we walked by her
home and she ran out to greet us and pray
for us.
There was confidence in my spirit
that God had led us to her.

God’s
healing power is my favorite story.
We visited a home where a little boy
had malaria.
He was so hot when you touched him.
We prayed over his body and two days
later he was outside with his mother picking
beans and smiling again!

We were
on the side of the Akagera Park mountains
one day.
We stopped to eat our “sack”
lunches in a pasture, under a tree, far away
from any houses.
When we finished, out from around the
vehicle came a little boy about 5 years old.
He had walked across the pasture to
us. All
any of us had left of our lunches were some
peanuts and a half a jar of peanut butter.
We gave this hungry boy the peanuts.
By this time he was joined by two
other boys.
We gave them the jar of peanut butter
with three spoons.
They sat very quietly taking turns
putting their spoons in the jar.
We gave them a bottle of water to go
with their “find”!
As I
watched the boys, my heart was broken for
the tremendous hunger, not only physical but
also spiritual, of this country of people.

As my
Ministry Partner (interpreter) and I were
going house-to-house sharing the gospel, we
met a very mature Christian.
He had lived in the neighborhood
(village) for his entire life of 45 years.
He had been a Christian for 25 years.
As were talking with him and his
neighbors, another neighbor walked in who
was completely drunk.
We all turned our attention to him,
explaining why we were there.
I asked him if he was a sinner and he
said no … even as you could smell the
alcohol coming off his breath.
He resisted for a while, but
eventually accepted Christ! The most amazing part of the visit was that we were able to
connect the mature Christian to the new
believer. It took our coming to that village for God to connect these
two men, even though they had lived as
neighbors for most of their lives.

The
first man God led me to accepted Christ
after hearing the gospel!
Praise God!
Our team went back on Tuesday to
disciple him and we found him excited and
anxious to learn more about the EvangeCube
and about the Lord.
His wife was away visiting friends so
I told him that I would be back on Wednesday
to share with her the Good News!
Upon
arriving on Wednesday however, his wife had
not yet returned, but a friend and his 2
girls were already learning from him about
Jesus.
This friend received the Lord and we
spent more time in discipleship.
On Thursday as we approached his hut,
we heard him reading the scripture booklet
we had given him and sharing Jesus with his
wife and another friend.
They both trusted Christ and on
Friday this man committed to using an
EvangeCube and sharing the gospel with the
unsaved I his village.
What
a sweet fellowship we will share in our
hearts for eternity!

God
revealed so many things to me during our
campaign in Rwanda.
One
such time was when we were sharing the
gospel with a couple in their home.
They knew of Christ but seemed
disinterested in the message and the lady
kept closing her eyes, but I felt lead to
continue talking with them, fighting off an
increasing sense of discouragement.
We were close to finally leaving when
a man, who we had not noticed, came from the
street into the house, he asked us to pray
with him so that he could receive salvation
in Jesus Christ.
I
was reminded that He calls us to be
obedient, that only He knows how our actions
impact on the lives of others, and that we
can never fully grasp the fullness of His
plan.
